Brazilian allegedly has children with daughter (AP)

SAO PAULO – Police in northeastern Brazil say they have arrested a man accused of sexually abusing his daughter for 12 years and fathering her two children.

Police acting on an anonymous tip arrested Silva on Tuesday in the city of Pirapemas. It is not clear if he has an attorney yet.
In a similar case, Maranhao police arrested Jose Agostinho Pereira in June and charged him with imprisoning his daughter for 12 years in his home and fathering her seven children.

4 children, mother die in Somali building collapse (AP)

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A Somali police officer says four children and their mother died after their house collapsed in Somalia's rubble-strewn capital.

Somalia, which has been in chaos for the last two decades, has no capacity to respond in emergency situations, such as fires and collapsed buildings. Most of Mogadishu's buildings are suffering from years of warfare and neglect.

Police officer Abdullahi Hassan said Friday that one boy survived with minor injuries.

Resident Fadumo Abdi said neighbors used bare hands, axes and shovels to retrieve the bodies after the overnight collapse.
